Our Students Participated in the “Teoman Ege ile Lezzetin İzinde”
As part of the Balıkesir filming of the program “Teoman Ege ile Lezzetin İzinde”, broadcast on TGRT Haber Television, the production team met with students from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Balıkesir University Faculty of Tourism.
The program began with an interview with Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, who provided information about the department’s educational structure as well as its academic and practical activities. Following the interview, the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts’ training kitchens were visited, introducing the practical learning facilities available to our students.
As part of the event, a cooking competition was organized to promote “Etli Çorba,” one of Balıkesir’s geographically indicated local specialties. During the competition, our students showcased their culinary skills, while Chef Levent Kaynak, President of the Balıkesir Chefs Association; Chef İzzet Durkon; and Chef Emrullah Butanri, a graduate of the Faculty of Tourism, served as jury members and evaluated the dishes. Both of our participating students received high praise from the jury for their successful performances.
