A “Chef Jacket Ceremony” was held for students of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Balıkesir University Faculty of Tourism. Marking an important milestone at the beginning of their professional journey, the students put on their chef jackets and took their first steps into the world of professional culinary arts.
The ceremony, held at the Prof. Dr. Necdet Hacıoğlu Conference Hall, was attended by Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu; Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt and Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay; Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Ahmet Köroğlu; Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at İstanbul Beykent University Asst. Prof. Dr. Esat Özata, as well as academics and students.
The program began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Vice Rector. In his speech, he emphasized that gastronomy education requires discipline, dedication, and creativity, while highlighting the importance of educating students who will successfully represent Turkish cuisine and gastronomic culture in the future.
The ceremony continued with the presentation of chef jackets to the students and concluded with commemorative photographs.
